Thanksgiving Day: What's Closed, What's Free?
Liquor stores will be closed and parking in county lots and at county meters will be free-of-charge on Thanksgiving Day.
For those not leaving Bethesda for Thanksgiving, here's a rundown on what's closed for the holiday:
- State offices and courts
- County offices
- Libraries
- County liquor stores
- Montgomery County public schools and administrative offices
- Recreation centers, classes, administrative offices
- Senior centers, programs, classes
- TRiPS commuter stores in Silver Spring and Friendship Heights
- Shady Grove trash transfer station
County-provided curbside trash and recycling pickups will not take place on Thanksgiving Day, and will slide by one day, through Saturday.
