Waverly Street Gallery presents photo synthesis: BOTANICAL PRINTS by LIZ WOLF

Abstract monoprints by Liz Wolf. Liz Wolf's recent work continues her interest in reducing natural forms to their visual essence.

Meet the Artist:  Sunday, November 16, 12 - 2pm

The monoprints, each unique, are constructed b y overlaying many layers of etching ink onto a heavy artist paper.  The artist uses digital imagery  that is transferred and leaves that are inked and printed.  An arraof contemporary printing is used for image transfer.  The techniques include:  drawing thin layers of ink on Plexiglas, transferring digital images via lithographic techniques, gum transfer and color Xerox transfer.

Liz Wolf has shown her work nationally and internationally.  She is an adjunct lecturer at Virginia Commonwealth University teaching printmaking.  She has taught at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Silver Spring,  the Virginia Museum of Fine Art Outreach program and the Lee Art Center in Arlington. VA.  She is a fellow at Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Amherst, VA and she teaches printmaking at the Yellow Barn at Glen Echo Park, Glen Echo, Maryland.
