Weather Alert: Flood Watch for Region as Heavy Rain Approaches
Strong storm system will bring a chance of thunderstorms on Monday.

A flood watch is in effect for the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., metro areas starting at 7 p.m. Sunday and running until 10 a.m. Monday.
Areas included in the watch are all or portions of Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Baltimore, Harford, Howard, Prince George’s counties.
Moderate to locally heavy rain will spread across the region Sunday night through mid-morning Monday. Rainfall totals around one and a half inches are expected across the greater Baltimore-Washington, D.C., metro area. Isolated higher amounts are possible.

“Expect small streams and creeks to rise, possibly overflowing their banks,” according to the NWS statement. “In addition, flooding may occur in low-lying and poor drainage areas.”
Residents are encouraged to continue to monitor the forecast.
