The Capital Weather Gang forecasts a 70 percent chance of a “wintry mix” Friday morning for the DC metro area, “with a minor accumulation on grass a distinct possibility.”

“Early-to-mid morning temperatures in the low-to-mid 30s should make it difficult for any snow to accumulate on paved surfaces, but not impossible. Best chance of picking up a slushy coating on roads would be north and west of D.C.,” the Gang says.

Temperatures are expected to be hovering near freezing Friday morning across the region, with temperatures climbing to 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
