World of Beer to Open in Bethesda
World of Beer will bring 500 craft beers and its international menu to Bethesda this spring.
From the Jacobson Rost: Craft beer hot spot, World of Beer, will join Bethesda, Maryland’s flourishing beer and restaurant market this spring at 7200 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20814. With a franchise-wide database of more than 36,000 beers from around the globe and 500 bottles and 50 daily rotating taps in-tavern, guests can anticipate an impressive selection of brews. The rapidly expanding WOB franchise currently operates more than 73 taverns in 20 states. WOB-Bethesda will employ approximately 50 people.
The tavern won’t just offer an extensive beer list but will also house beer-enhanced machines that take brews to the next level. World of Beer-Bethesda will exclusively house a stainless-steel infusion tower that allows the tavern to infuse beer with herbs, coffee, fruit, etc., to create new spins on brews. Additionally, their cask engine will give patrons the opportunity to try exclusive, limited-time-offer local beers that will be housed in the cask and tapped at the tavern.
World of Beer-Bethesda is also dedicated to partnering with local breweries to promote the community’s impressive and expansive beer selection. Partners include: 7 Locks Brewing (Rockville, MD), Heavy Seas Beer (Halethorpe, MD), DC Brau (Washington, D.C.), Flying Dog Brewery (Frederick, MD), Jailbreak Brewing Company (Laurel, MD), and Denizens Brewing Co. (Silver Spring).

The 5,100-square-foot tavern, with a 1,250-square-foot enclosed patio, will provide guests with the perfect viewing experience for any major sporting event. The tavern’s impressive number of TVs offers guests the most ideal situation to view any event, from any spot in the tavern with a nice cold brew.
Franchise owners, Matt Earl and John Stein, will head the new tavern in Bethesda. The duo has been a part of the WOB family since 2012, and own three additional Maryand taverns located in Baltimore, Rockville, and Towson.

“Our goal is to provide the Bethesda community with a one-of-a-kind craft beer experience with a world of styles, tastes, and culture they won’t find anywhere else,” said Matt Earl, WOB-Bethesda’s co-owner.
The new craft beer haven will offer the Bethesda community a unique “hoppy” hour every day from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.that will offer select drafts, cocktails, wine and tavern shares, along with live music on Saturdays. Guest can also anticipate BEERunch on Saturdays and Sundays, followed by Pick Two lunch options starting at $7.99, Monday through Friday with Margherita Flatbread, Beer-Brined Crispy Chicken Sliders, Classic Cheeseburgers, Veggie & Hummus Wrap and more.
“Whether you’re a passionate beer lover, avid sports fan, music lover or simply looking for a friendly place to gather for great casual food and a drink, we hope to see you here,” added John Stein, WOB Bethesda’s co-owner.
Menu Offerings
World of Beer-Bethesda offers a daily homage to beer, complemented by great food. The tavern will serve lunch and dinner daily and offers a perfectly beer-paired menu offers modern twists on classic dishes, such as:

- Veggie Hummus Wraps
- Beer-Battered Shrimp Tacos with Sriracha Lime Aioli

WOB Provides the Premier Craft Beer Experience
Want to know the ins and outs of craft beers or what tavern fare to pair with your brew of choice? Specially trained WOB servers complete a two-week beer school and will be on hand to guide guests through the WOB experience centered around craft beer discovery, food and beer combinations, live music and a home for every sport-lover’s gameday.
World of Beer’s Loyalty Club helps guests discover new beer styles, flavors and brands while rewarding them with points to earn gift cards and complimentary pub perks. Putting the WOB culture in guests’ hands, the loyalty program is easily accessed through the WOB app, available on iPhone and Android smartphones.

Since opening its first tavern in Tampa, Florida, in 2007, WOB has grown to more than 73 locations in 20 states.
