20-Inch Water Main Break Repaired After Roads Flooded
A water main break that flooded Bethesda roadways and left residents without water temporarily has been fixed, WSSC Water confirmed.
BETHESDA, MD — A 20-inch water main that forced the closure of several roadways in Bethesda has officially been repaired.
The latest update provided by the WSSC Water utility indicated crews had shifted their focus to road restoration on the eastbound lanes of Bradley Boulevard at Arlington Road.
"Weather permitting, all eastbound and westbound lanes are expected to reopen by the end of the day," the utility said in an X post.

The region is currently on a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m.

At the time, the water main break left roadways severely flooded on Wednesday, and nearby residents were without water.
The cause of the break remains unknown.
WSSC Water told WTOP that the impacted pipe was installed in 2018.
