• Man Backed Car Into Birthday Party Tent, Killing Woman and Inuring Multiple Children, Including 1-Year-Old (people.com) — A woman was killed and 14 people, including eight children, were injured when a driver reversed into a birthday party tent outside a Bladensburg home last October. The 66-year-old Maryland man pleaded guilty and received a 10-year prison sentence, but grieving relatives and survivors say the punishment feels too light for the trauma and loss they continue to endure.
