2. Board of Public Works Approves $6.38 Million for Tennis Courts, Trails, and Land Conservation in Five Maryland Counties (maryland.gov) — Boonsboro is set to get a new pavilion at Shafer Park thanks to state Community Parks and Playgrounds funding approved this week by Maryland’s Board of Public Works. The same meeting also backed projects for tennis courts, trails, and land conservation across several Maryland counties, but Boonsboro’s park upgrade is one of the few that will be felt directly in town.

Washington County Museum of Fine Arts welcomes new members to its Board of Trustees (thehancocknews.com) — A new Washington County Museum of Fine Arts trustee has deep Boonsboro ties, co-owning Turn the Page Bookstore and the Inn Boonsboro with his wife, author Nora Roberts. He joins four other leaders from law, tourism, healthcare, and community service who will help guide the Hagerstown museum’s regional arts mission and honor a longtime trustee who recently passed away.
