• County looking at FY2027 POS list that includes Widmeyer Park project (thehancocknews.com) — Washington County’s FY2027 Program Open Space plan includes money for a new dog park in Boonsboro’s Shafer Park, alongside major park upgrades in Hancock, Hagerstown, Sharpsburg, and Smithsburg. If final approvals go through, every sponsor’s project request will be funded, with most development work requiring only a small local match to move ahead next year.
