1 Killed, 1 Injured During Multiple Car Pileup In Prince George's: Police
One man is dead and another injured while trying to assist others involved in a multi-car pileup in Prince George's County.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — An early morning crash Sunday killed a Prince George's County man and injured another. Shortly after 3 a.m., a black Dodge Crossroad rear-ended a white Chevy Cruze in lane one of the inner loop of I-495 at Central Avenue.
A good Samaritan, later identified as Jarryd Brown, 44, of Silver Spring, stopped his vehicle on the right shoulder to help. He left his vehicle, ran across the southbound lanes of I-495 and checked on the people in one of the vehicles. He went to check on the driver of the Chevrolet Cruz and was in lane when a white Chevrolet Impala driven by Fredys Castillo Rivas, 46, of Upper Marlboro stopped at the scene in lane three of the Capital Beltway. Police believe Rivas also was stopping to help the accident victims.
But before Rivas left his vehicle, a black GMC Acadia hit his Impala, the police department reported. The force of the impact caused the Impala to rotate and move forward, hitting Brown.
