Learn 10 Creative Interventions to Promote Healing After Loss
Earn Continuing Education Credits with Chesapeake Life Center seminar on grief theory and interventions.

Chesapeake Life Center continues its commitment to the professional community by offering “Ten Creative Interventions to Promote Healing after Loss,” a seminar on grief theory and interventions. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2016, on the John & Cathy Belcher Campus, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, Md.
The training, which qualifies for three category I continuing education units for social workers licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners, introduces participants to current grief theory as well as creative techniques to support individuals and families through their grief journey. Many of these interventions can be applied to “ambiguous grief” situations, such as foster care and deployment.
The seminar will interweave lecture, case study, discussion and participation to enhance learning. The goal is that at the end of the seminar, participants will be familiar with current grief theory, understand “ambiguous grief” as it pertains to non-death related loss and learn several effective interventions that can be used to support grieving individuals.
