19-Year-Old Convicted In Laurel Man's Death

A Prince George's County jury has convicted a 19-year-old Temple Hills man in the April 2025 death of a 31-year-old Laurel man.

LAUREL, MD — A 19-year-old man has been found guilty by a Prince George's County jury in the April 1, 2025, death of 31-year-old Ovidio Arnoldo Zecena Mateo in Laurel.

Detectives identified Noe Manrique Garcia-Umanzor of Temple Hills as the suspect in Zecena-Mateo's shooting death in April 2025. He was charged with first-degree murder and other related criminal charges, according to the police department.

Garcia‑Umanzor ultimately was convicted of first‑degree felony murder, armed robbery, multiple counts of assault, firearm offenses, false imprisonment and obstruction of justice.
