2 17-Year-Old Boys Charged In Fatal Shooting Of 19-Year-Old: Prince George's Police

Two teens have been arrested and charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old that happened in April, according to police.

CHILLUM, MD — Two suspects wanted in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in April in Chillum have been arrested.

On April 10 at approximately 12:05 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 500 block of Chillum Road for a report of a shooting. Officers found 19-year-old Carlo Hernandez-Ortiz outside with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The preliminary investigation indicated the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute. The victim and suspects, a 17-year-old boy from Arlington, Virginia, and a 17-year-old boy from Hyattsville, knew each other.

The suspects have been charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges. They are being held on a no-bond status.
