Shooting Suspects Charged In Oxon Hill Man's Death

A 21-year-old and a 20-year-old from Washington, D.C., have been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of an Oxon Hill man.

OXON HILL, MD — Two suspects have been arrested and charged in connection to the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Ricardo Lee Vance that happened in Oxon Hill in February.

On Feb. 3 around 9:15 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 6100 block of Oxon Hill Road for a report of a shooting. Officers found Vance outside with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives identified India Stroman, 21, and Orlando Edwards, 20, both of Washington, D.C., as the suspects wanted in the shooting and obtained arrest warrants. The PGPD's fugitive unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, found and arrested both suspects Thursday, the police department reported.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the suspects and victim did not know each other, but were arguing, which led to the shooting.

Stroman and Edwards have been charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as related charges. They are both in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
