2 Killed, 1 Injured In Shooting At PG County Car Meetup: Police

Hundreds of people were attending the meetup in a shopping center parking lot when the shooting happened Thursday night.

ACCOKEEK, MD — Two men were fatally shot and another was injured Thursday night at a Prince George's County car meetup where hundreds of people were in attendance, according to police and a report.

Prince George's County police said the shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. in a shopping center parking lot in the 7000 block of Berry Road. When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later identified the victims as 48-year-old Sheldon Proctor of Waldorf and 55-year-old Patrick Savoy of Charlotte Hall.

A third victim left the meetup following the shooting and drove himself to a hospital for treatment.

According to an NBC Washington report, hundreds of people were at the meetup when the shooting happened.

Investigators are still working to determine the motive and circumstances that led to the shooting. No suspects have been identified.
