Two Men Hit, Killed By Vehicles In Separate Towns On Same Day: Prince George's Police

Two men have been hit and killed by passing vehicles in separate towns on the same day, reports the Prince George's Police Department.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 70-year-old man has been hit and killed by a passing vehicle in Chillum while another man whose identity hasn't been released also has been hit and killed in Suitland. Both incidents happened Tuesday.

On Dec. 12 around 6 a.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 5900 block of Riggs Road in Chillum. Officers found Marcos Gonzalez-Chavez of Chillum lying in the road and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision. The deceased pedestrian is 70-year-old Marcos Gonzalez-Chavez of Chillum. A preliminary investigation indicates the involved driver hit Gonzalez-Chavez in the northbound lanes of Riggs Road. The driver remained on the scene and was uninjured.

On Dec. 12 around 3 a.m., officers were called to the 5000 block of Branch Avenue. Officers found a man in the road with trauma who was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity will be released once his family has been notified.

A preliminary investigation indicates the involved driver hit the man in the northbound lanes of Branch Avenue. The driver remained on the scene and was uninjured.
