2nd Loaded Gun Brought To School After Fights: Prince George's Police
Two students in two days' time took loaded guns to their schools after 10 fights in 1 day erupted in the halls of one school, police say.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Another student has been found with a loaded gun at a Prince George's high school. It was the second reported incident in two days.
A 17-year-old boy attending Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro was found with a loaded gun by Prince George’s County Public Schools security personnel around 9:30 a.m. Friday, according to Prince George’s County Police. The student will be charged with handgun on person, dangerous weapon on school property, loaded handgun on person and additional charges, the police department noted.
The day prior, Patch reported that an 18-year-old student at Charles Herbert Flowers High School took a loaded gun to school. This incident followed 10 fights that broke out Tuesday at the school.

Around 8:20 a.m. Thursday, the Prince George's County Police Department was alerted of a student with a gun by school security personnel. The gun was confiscated and the student, Ke’Shawn Reeves of Lanham, has been arrested, police said. Reeves faces charges of handgun on person, dangerous weapon on school property, loaded handgun on person and additional charges, according to the police department.
Sources told 7News Maryland Bureau Chief Brad Bell that it was believed Reeves tried to avoid metal detectors at the main entrance by entering a side door. The source also told 7News that Reeves was involved in one of several fights at the school on Tuesday.

Ten fights erupted between students Tuesday during the school day at Charles Herbert Flowers High School. Then students from another school showed up at the end of the day Dec. 19 to fight Flowers students., Patch reported.
In a viral video posted on social media and shared by Fox 5 DC, it appears a large brawl broke out in the hallway of the high school. School administrators sent a letter to parents Wednesday, alerting them of the "concerning series of multiple altercations" that unfolded Tuesday.
“I want to make it clear that there is zero tolerance for weapons or any type of crime in our schools,” said Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy in a statement provided to WTOP. “The two separate incidents in which students brought guns to Charles Herbert Flowers and Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School are serious and my office will review these cases, pursue accountability and ask for tough and significant consequences. My office has a strong record of prosecuting gun cases and will continue to seek justice and ensure that our students, educators and communities remain safe.”
