3rd Victim Dies from Wild Dice Game Shootout in Capitol Heights

Two teenagers were shot to death back in October and there were a total of six victims.

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — A third person has died stemming from a shootout in Capitol Heights back in October over a dice game that went wrong.

Gleason Wood, 27, of Northeast D.C. has passed away from his injuries, the Prince George's County Police Department said in an update to their blog on Tuesday.

Police arrested 22-year-old Bravon Freeman of Southeast D.C. on charges of first and second degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Todd Webb. The investigation continues into identifying a suspect or suspects who shot and killed Wood as well as 18-year-old Brian Davis at the same shooting scene minutes earlier, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police were called to the 6800 block of Walker Mill Road at around 2:45 a.m. Oct. 30 to a report of a shooting, and found six shooting victims in the parking lot. Webb and Davis were pronounced dead at the scene.

"The preliminary investigation reveals the six victims and Freeman were among a group of people who were gathered outside an apartment building to take part in or watch a dice game," the report states. "For a reason which remains under investigation, a suspect or suspects began to shoot into the group. Davis was killed in that shooting. Several minutes later, detectives believe Freeman went inside the building, got a gun and then shot and killed Webb. Responding patrol officers arrested Freeman on the scene."
