81-Year-Old Fatally Hit By Vehicle In Upper Marlboro: Prince George's Police

An 81-year-old Upper Marlboro man was killed late Monday night after being hit by an SUV, according to Prince George's Police.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Detectives are investigating a fatal collision between a vehicle and 81-year-old Tomel Burke of Upper Marlboro that happened Monday night.

On April 15 at approximately 11:05 p.m., officers were called to the area of John Rogers Boulevard and Courtland Lane in Upper Marlboro. Prince George's police officers found Burke in the road with injuries. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later, according to the police department.

A preliminary investigation indicates the involved driver hit Burke in the southbound lanes of John Rogers Boulevard. The driver remained on the scene and wasn't injured.
