Akron Hands Bowie Third Straight Loss

Aeros take early five-run lead, hold on for 5-3 victory in Bowie

Akron finished an impressive weekend in Bowie with a 5-3 victory over the Baysox Sunday afternoon in an Eastern League game.

The Aeros jumped from last to second place, tied with Bowie and Harrisburg, one game behind first-place Altoona in the Western Division. Bowie (18-19) couldn't bounce back from an early 5-0 deficit.

Brandon Waring hit a solo homer to stretch his hitting streak to four games. Caleb Joseph got a bases-loaded walk, and Ronnie Welty hit a sacrifice fly.
