Altoona Tops Baysox, 7-1 In Matinee Game

Bowie fell behind early and couldn't do much after that as Altoona rolled to a 7-1 victory in a matinee contest on Wednesday.

The Curve threw the Baysox for one, scoring three runs in the second and third innings to take a 6-1 lead. The Baysox scored the game's first run on a Robbie Widlansky sacrifice fly in the first but couldn't do anything else after that. 

Starter Wynn Pelzer (1-5) has struggled in two of his last four starts. He lasted only 2 2/3 innings and gave up six runs on 10 hits.

The loss dropped the Baysox to 23-23 for the season, one-half game out of first.
