Arrest Made in Death of Rap Artist Kealo at Video Shoot
Prince George's County Police say a Washington, D.C., man fired a gun, killing the musician at a Seat Pleasant video shoot.

A Washington, D.C., man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of an aspiring rap music artist during the filming of a music video.
The Prince George’s County Police Department says Keaway Lafonz Ivy, 21, of 18th Street in Southeast Washington was fatally wounded. Police said Friday they have charged Lafonzo Leonard Iracks, 21, of the 1600 block of E Street in Northeast Washington, D.C., in Ivy’s death.

The Seat Pleasant Police Department was called about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 400 block of Eastern Avenue for the report of a shooting. Officers found Ivy in a parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

WJLA TV reports that Ivy, a popular YouTube artist who used the rap name Kealo, died near 62nd Place and Eastern Avenue in Seat Pleasant on the scene of a rap video shoot. Sources told WJLA that Ivy and up to 20 people were shooting the video when a gun was fired; Ivy was hit and killed.
Investigators say both Ivy and Iracks were in the 400 block of Eastern Avenue shooting the music video. At some point, Iracks fired his weapon, striking and killing Ivy.
Iracks was apprehended by police Friday morning in Northeast DC. He is currently being held in Washington, D.C., awaiting extradition.
