Arrest Made in Fatal Stabbing of Man Taken to State Police Barrack

A Clinton man was arrested in Washington, D.C., and charged in the murder of a Forestville man, police say.

An arrest has been made in the stabbing death of a Prince George’s County man who died after he was driven to a Maryland State Police Barrack for help.

The Prince George’s County Police Department has charged Tremayne Antwan Crawford, 27, of the 6900 block of Bost Lane in Clinton with murder. Police say he fatally stabbed Theodore Van Weeks III, 28, of the 3300 block of Walters Lane in Forestville.

Police were called to the 3300 block of Walters Lane June 2 for the report of a stabbing, but did not the victim. A few minutes later, officers learned a relative had driven Van Weeks to the nearby Maryland State Police Barrack in Forestville for help. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died a short time later.

Throughout the course of the investigation, Crawford was developed as a suspect. On June 7, an arrest warrant was obtained charging him with first- and second-degree murder. Tuesday night, he was arrested in the 2800 block of 17th Street in Northeast Washington. He is awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
