Domestic Incident Leads To Assault Charges Filed Against Prince George's Sheriff's Deputy

A Prince George's sheriff's deputy faces assault charges stemming from a domestic incident that occurred in Charles County Monday night.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A Prince George’s County sheriff’s deputy has been charged with assault in a domestic incident that occurred in Charles County Monday night.

Sgt. Ibin Lateef, 44, faces first- and second-degree assault charges that occurred during an off-duty domestic incident, police said. He since has been suspended without pay, the county sheriff’s office reported.

Lateef has been with the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office for 18 years and is assigned to the Bureau of Field Operations, the sheriff’s office told The Washington Post.
