Attempted Carjacking Suspect Seen In Surveillance Video Sought By Prince George's Police

PGPD is searching for an attempted carjacking suspect seen in a surveillance video recently released by police.

The incident happened July 11 shortly after 4 a.m. in the 9500 block of Crain Highway in Upper Marlboro. In the surveillance video​, the suspect can be seen walking by the victim’s vehicle that's parked in front of a building.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The carjacking interdiction unit of the Prince George's Police Department has released video footage of the suspect wanted for recently attempting to carjack a victim.

The incident happened July 11 shortly after 4 a.m. in the 9500 block of Crain Highway in Upper Marlboro. In the surveillance video, the suspect can be seen walking by the victim’s vehicle that's parked in front of a building. The victim is sitting in the driver’s seat. A short time later, the suspect can be seen circling back in the parking lot and again approaching the vehicle. He opens the driver’s door and tries to pull the victim out of the vehicle. The suspect eventually runs off, according to the police department. The victim was not injured.

If anyone has information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts, they are asked to call detectives at 301-516-3788.
