The Baysox fell behind early and never could rally as Erie handed them a 6-1 defeat Sunday afternoon.
Erie scored three first-inning runs off Bowie starter Richard Zagone (1-3) and added one more in the second and third for a 5-0 lead. Billy Rowell's RBI groundout in the fourth scored the only Bowie run.
Bowie went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position. The Baysox left seven on base and wasted some good early scoring chances.
