Bowie shocks Erie by rallying from seven-run deficit in first game, SeaWolves edge Baysox in nightcap.

Bowie split a double-header with Erie in Eastern League action Sunday at Prince George's County Stadium.
The Baysox surprised Erie by rallying from an early 7-0 deficit to pull out an 11-7 victory (in seven innings) in the first game. Bowie used an eight-run fifth inning, capped by a Jeff Fiorentino three-run homer to take command.
Cole McCurry (2-0) turned in another strong performance, throwing four innings of shutout relief to get the victory.

The nightcap was a pitcher's duel that ended with Erie pulling out a 2-1 victory in extra innings.
Minor league doubleheaders are seven-inning games, but Jamie Johnson started the top of the eighth with a homer off Bowie closer Jose Diaz (0-2) to break a 1-1 tie.

Bowie starter Tim Bascom threw 6 2/3 strong innings, giving up just one run on six hits. He allowed a run in the top of the first but nothing else.
The Baysox got their only run in the fifth, tying the game on a Carlos Rojas RBI single. Erie pitchers struck out 13 batters in the eight-inning contest.
The split left Bowie with a 5-5 record. The Baysox are tied with Altoona, Erie and Richmond for first place in the tight Western Division, Akron is one-half game back of the four teams tied for first, and Harrisburg is one game behind in last place.
