Baysox Start Fast, Hold on Late
Bowie holds off late Reading rally for 5-4 victory to stay one-half game out.

Bowie took a big early lead with a five-run first inning, and the Baysox then hung on for a 5-4 victory over Reading Tuesday night.
The win let Bowie stay one-half game behind Harrisburg in the Eastern League's Western Division with a 64-51 record—but two games ahead of Richmond in third place in the battle for the final playoff spot.

Bowie gave Bascom a good early cushion with five runs in the first. The Baysox loaded the bases before Buck Britton blasted a three-run triple. Caleb Joseph made it 4-0 on a sacrifice fly, and Brandon Waring followed with a solo homer for the fifth run.
Reading kept chipping away and scored twice in the ninth to make it 5-4 before Pedro Viola came on to get the final out.
