Baysox Start Fast, Hold on Late

Bowie holds off late Reading rally for 5-4 victory to stay one-half game out.

Bowie took a big early lead with a five-run first inning, and the Baysox then hung on for a 5-4 victory over Reading Tuesday night.

The win let Bowie stay one-half game behind Harrisburg in the Eastern League's Western Division with a 64-51 record—but two games ahead of Richmond in third place in the battle for the final playoff spot.

Tim Bascom (8-2) gave up just two runs on seven hits in seven innings.
