Bowie Citizens' Police Academy Begins May 3, Accepting Applications Now For Participants

BOWIE, MD — The next session of Bowie's Citizens' Police Academy will start May 3. The academy is a 13-week training course that allows participants to learn from police officers and other members of the criminal justice system through interactive classes and discussions.

There will be a variety of topics covered, including but not limited to:

• Internal investigations
• Tactical training technique
• Judgment enhanced training
• Citizen/police interaction
• Media relations

Participants must complete an application in order to be considered and must be at least 18 years old. Space is limited.
