Bowie Rallies to Beat New Britain, Take Over First Again

Joe Mahoney and Buck Britton got back-to-back RBI doubles followed by a Brandon Waring homer to spark a four-run eighth inning and give Bowie an 8-5 victory over New Britain Saturday night.

The win improved Bowie's record to 67-52 and gave the Baysox possession of first place again. Harrisburg lost and fell one-half game behind Bowie.

New Britain was holding on to a 5-4 lead before Bowie rallied in the eighth. Mahoney tied the game with a double, and Britton put the Baysox in front with his RBI double.

Waring added some insurance with his two-run blast for the 8-5 lead. Eddie Gamboa (5-1) got the victory, and Jose Diaz earned the save.
