Buckle Up for the Worst Potholes in Bowie

BOWIE, MD--Nothing puts a dent in a morning commute like bad traffic and a street littered with potholes.

Blizzard 2016 left monumental snowfalls up and down the east coast, and Bowie was not immune to its wrath.

Large snowfalls compiled with El Niño induced warmer temperatures have caused more potholes and road problems than most motorists can stomach.

Patch Readers gave us a rundown of particularly pocked streets in their neighborhoods. Here are some spots that might be worth detouring:

• “Freestate Mall! Turning into the shopping center by the back side of the fire house! That hole has been there for ages...They “filled” it once, but apparently not good enough! Grrrrr...”
• “301 exit of route 50, heading towards SportFit- it’s been a mess for years”
• “The entire route of 197 from 450 to Rt. 50. Even after the pothole crew came through.”
• “Kenhill and 197. I’m tired of that obstacle course everyone I leave the neighborhood”
• “There are SEVERAL on Mitchellville rd.....”
