Budweiser Clydesdales at Nats Opening Day; Where to See Them in DC

Budweiser's famous Clydesdales will be touring the area this week to help kick off opening day for the Washington Nationals, and celebrate all things beer.

The draft horses will arrive to celebrate Anheuser-Busch's new partnership with the Washington Nationals, and will be on hand for Nats Opening Day, National Beer Day and a Washington Capitals home game, according to a statement.

The horses will first appear Wednesday evening at Cantina Marina, a southwest D.C. waterfront bar and grill. They'll also be at Duffy's Irish Pub on Vermont Avenue in Northwest for a Washington Nationals viewing party. The Nationals' Racing Presidents will join the horses for the event.

On Thursday, they'll be at Nats Park for opening day and National Beer Day. The horses will "parade around the park, hit center field for the national anthem and pose for photos at the stadium's Budweiser Brew House," the statement reads.

After taking a break on Friday, a Budweiser Clydesdale will interact with fans at Stoney's on P Street in Northwest on April 9. And finally, on April 10, the horses will be at Verizon Center for the last Washington Capitals game of the regular season.

The Budweiser Clydesdales made their very first appearance in D.C. in 1933, when they delivered a case of Budweiser to the White House in celebration of the repeal of prohibition.
