City: Discolored Water Is Safe to Drink
An increase in iron content has made water appear discolored, according to the city.
If you have discolored water, the city of Bowie said it's safe to drink but advises not washing clothes on Wednesday.
An alert from the city Wednesday morning stated that the water may appear discolored because of an increase in the iron content. The city's water system serves 7,900 homes in Bowie.
According to the city, the clarity of the water should improve during the day and the discoloration does not affect customers who receive their water from WSSC.
