Commuter Alert: Major I-95 Ramp Shut Down Through the Weekend in Prince George's County

The ramp to the Intercounty Connector is getting resurfaced this weekend, so plan accordingly.

LAUREL, MD — The Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration is shutting down the northbound I-95 ramp to MD 200 (Intercounty Connector), so be prepared if you plan on traveling in the area this weekend.

Officials will shut down the ramp at 9 p.m. Friday night, and crews will be working Friday, Sunday and Monday to resurface the road, with all lanes reopening by 5 a.m. on Monday, according to a statement.

The ramp closure will also affect accessibility to US 29 (Columbia Pike, I-270, US 1 (Baltimore Avenue) and MD 198 (Sandy Spring Road).

"Drivers should continue on northbound I-95 to MD 216 (Scaggsville Road), continue on westbound MD 216 and take the ramp to southbound I-95 to access exits 31, 32 or 33," the statement adds. "Motorists should plan extra travel time during the work."
