Driver Convicted Of Manslaughter For Killing, Injuring Navy Men
John Mueller Jr., 32, was convicted after hitting the two men on the side of I-495 with his car and then fleeing the scene.
UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A 32-year-old man could face up to 14 years in prison after he was recently convicted of criminally negligent manslaughter for his role in killing a U.S. Navy man and injuring another.
According to the office of the state attorney in Prince George’s County, in August 2018, John Mueller Jr. was traveling north on I-495 in Oxon Hill when he crossed the line separating the right lane from the right shoulder, hitting Christian Guerreiro and Ryan Eades, who were standing next to their disabled vehicle on the road’s shoulder.
Mueller then fled the scene, according to the state attorney, driving for almost a quarter-mile before his car broke down. He then got out of his vehicle and fled the scene on foot. Police located him at a nearby gas station.
