Family Shocked By Sentence For 12-Year-Old Who Murdered 13-Year-Old
The family of 13-year-old King Douglas expressed surprise at the sentence a judge gave the teen who shot and killed Douglas when he was 12.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The family of 13-year-old King Douglas gathered in a Prince George's County courtroom Tuesday to learn the fate of the now 14-year-old who shot the teen when he was 12 years old.
According to Fox 5, people present for both boys cried and could be seen bowing their heads in prayer throughout the sentencing hearing. Douglas' family had hoped for a tough penalty for the teen, but the judge said he must follow Maryland law when it comes to juveniles and ordered the 14-year-old to indefinite supervised probation.
The 14-year-old also must participate in both family and individual counseling and anger management. He'll have a GPS monitoring device put back on his ankle.

And you allowed this child to get off a murder case that he admitted to. It’s crazy to me," Ja’Ka McKnight, Douglas' mom, said. "It’s heartbreaking. It’s sad. I’m worried. I’m really worried for our juveniles."
