Free Drive-In Movie For First Responders At Bowie Baysox Stadium

First responders can catch a free drive-in movie this weekend at Prince George's Stadium, home of the Bowie Baysox.

BOWIE, MD — First responders can watch a free drive-in movie this Friday. The featured film is "Greenland," a PG-13 action thriller starring Gerard Butler.

The event will take place outside Prince George's Stadium, home of the Bowie Baysox. Family and friends are welcome to the show, which starts at 8:30 p.m. The parking lot opens an hour beforehand.

Attendees can get tickets at pgparks.com/baysoxmovietickets. The deadline to request passes is Friday at noon. Two hundred free tickets are available, and only one is needed per vehicle. Moviegoers can only register one car with their badge number.

First responders should enter their department or station information in the "organization" box at checkout. Guests will get an email receipt to serve as their entry pass.

The festivities are sponsored by Amerigroup as well as the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission and the Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County.

"We are thrilled to offer this event for our first responders, including our Park Police, so that they can enjoy a special night out with their family and friends," stated Tracy Wright, resource development officer for the department. "Having great partnerships with organizations like Amerigroup allows us to create more exciting opportunities for our patrons to enjoy our award-winning parks and recreation system."

Patrons can hear the movie through speakers by the screen or on a radio frequency in their car. Folding chairs are allowed. Alcohol is not allowed.

There will not be concessions, but workers will hand out snack bags while supplies last. Viewers can also bring their own food.

Only standard passenger vehicles are permitted. They should not contain more people than seatbelts inside.

"We are happy to partner with the Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County to provide an activity that will allow our heroes to enjoy some quality time with their families and friends."
