Giant Food Donates $100K to Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors
Giant presented a $100,000 grant to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) through Giant's Our Family Foundation.

On September 26, Giant presented a $100,000 grant to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) through Giant’s Our Family Foundation. Founded in 1994, TAPS offers compassionate care to all those grieving the death of a loved one serving in our Armed Forces. Since its founding, TAPS has provided comfort and hope 24 hours a day, seven days a week through a national peer support network and connection to grief resources, all at no cost to surviving families and loved ones. The grant is part of Giant’s commitment to helping military families in the Greater Washington, D.C. region.

The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is the is the national organization providing compassionate care for the families of America's fallen military heroes and has offered support to more than 60,000 surviving family members of our fallen military and their caregivers since 1994. TAPS provides peer-based emotional support, grief and trauma resources, healing seminars and retreats for adults, camps for children, casework assistance, connections to community-based care, online and in-person support groups and the 24/7 National Military Survivor Helpline at 800.959.TAPS (8277) available for all who have been affected by a death in the Armed Forces.
