Gunshots Heard Near Bowie High School, Shelter-In-Place Now Lifted: Police
Bowie Police disclosed Monday that a shelter-in-place had been ordered for Bowie High School and the annex due to gunshots heard nearby.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The Bowie Police Department reports the sound of gunshots fired near Bowie High School shortly before 3 p.m. Monday. A shelter-in-place had been implemented at Bowie High School and the annex, the department reported. It has since been lifted.
The police department stated it would continue to investigate to "ensure there is no active threat."
