Harrisburg Finishes Five-Game Sweep Of Baysox

Senators edge Bowie, 7-6, to drop Baysox to six games out of first

The Baysox saw a very bad weekend end in a very frustrating way Monday night. Bowie tried to rally after falling behind early, but Harrisburg hung on for a 7-6 victory in an Eastern League game.

That victory completed a five-game sweep for Harrisburg and dropped the Baysox to 24-28 on the season. This is the team's worst record so far.

Harrisburg (28-20) now has a three-game lead and took command of the division with the sweep. Bowie had been fighting for first place throughout the season, and the Baysox now are tied for last in the Western Division.

Wynn Pelzer (1-6) continued to have problems, lasting only three innings and giving up six runs on five hits. Pelzer pitched well in the opening weeks of the season before struggling in the last several starts.

Harrisburg scored three in both the second and third for a 6-4 lead. The Senators stretched it to 7-4 and then held on as Bowie got single runs in the seventh and eighth. Bowie native LJ Hoes and Billy Rowell each drove in two runs in the loss.
