Inauguration Day 2017: What's Open, What's Closed in Prince George's County

Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20 will bring a lot of people in the area, and that will result in a disruption to normal schedules.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Inauguration Day will soon be upon us, and it creates a unique challenge for the D.C. area: should government buildings and services stay open on the big day, or treat it like a holiday?

Here's a breakdown of what will be open in Prince George's County on Inauguration Day 2017 and what will be closed as huge crowds converge on the National Mall.

PG County public transit service TheBus will operate a regular route on Jan. 20, with the exception of Route 51, which serves county government buildings. Regular service for Route 51 will resume on Monday, Jan. 23. The county's Para-Transit and Call-a-Bus service won't operate on Jan. 20 either, with regular service resuming on Jan. 23.

The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Friday, as will Prince George's CountyClick 3-1-1. Both will return to regular operations on Jan. 23.
