82-Year-Old Man Dies 2 Months After Being Hit By Driver: Prince George's Police

An 82-year-old Hyattsville man has died more than two months after he was hit by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene, police said.

LANDOVER HILLS, MD — A 82-year-old Hyattsville man has died more than two months after he was hit by a vehicle whose driver took off after the crash.

On Jan. 25, Landover Hills police officers were called to the area of Annapolis Road and 68th Avenue for a hit-and-run collision involving a person. Officers found Tyrone Tyson in the road. He was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries March 30, Prince George's Police announced.

The preliminary investigation indicated the driver hit Tyson as he attempted to cross the roadway. The driver did not remain on the scene but has since been identified, the police department noted.
