One Missing at Upper Marlboro House Fire

One person is unaccounted for at a house fire, say authorities, and one firefighter fell partway through the roof.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A resident is unaccounted for at the scene of a house fire in the 9300 block of Old Marlboro Pike in Upper Marlboro, authorities said.

Fire was showing from the structure when Prince George’s County firefighters arrived, said spokesman Mark Brady via Twitter.

One firefighter partially fell through the home’s roof, was rescued by other firefighters, and is reported in good condition, Brady said.

Heavy flames spread from the rear of the one-story house to the attic, he said. The fire was largely extinguished by 2 p.m.

There is no word yet on who reported the fire, how many residents may have been at home at the time of the fire, or a possible cause for the blaze.
