Upper Marlboro Dog Mauled To Death By 3 Other Canines While On Morning Walk With Owner

A dog owner saw his pet be mauled to the brink of death by three other dogs while on their morning walk. His dog had to be euthanized.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — What started as a peaceful morning walk around an Upper Marlboro neighborhood ended with tragedy for one dog owner.

Dwyte Brown and his dog Isis encountered three pitbulls during their walk. Brown told FOX5 DC that he never saw the dogs until they were right in front of them. He grabbed his dog and said, "Let's go Isis."

But the dogs attacked, and while trying to save his dog's life, Brown began to fear for his own. He jumped over a neighbor's fence and watched his pet of more than a decade be mauled to the brink of death.

Isis was left with puncture marks in her head and her throat ripped open, Brown told FOX5 DC. He called 911 and county animal control officers arrived at the site of the attack on Lenox Drive. At one point, Isis stood up and took two steps toward her owner, then collapsed. He then made the difficult decision to have his pet euthanized to spare her any more pain. She was 11 years old.

Not long after the attack, animal control found the three unleashed dogs and on April 4, they were formally surrendered by the dogs who will be euthanized "due to the severity of the attack," animal control noted in a statement. Read more at FOX5 DC.
