POLL: Is New Redistricting Map Fair to Bowie Residents?
Bowie Mayor G. Frederick Robinson is reportedly fighting for changes to the governor's proposed legislative redistricting map.
Gov. Martin O’Malley recently proposed a map that detailed the boundaries of legislative districts for electing members to the General Assembly.
A release from the governor's office states that the his proposed map "pays exceptional attention to respecting natural and political boundaries, and results in districts that are compact, contiguous, and protects communities."
However, not everyone agrees with that assessment. Bowie Mayor G. Frederick Robinson met with House Speaker Michael Busch (D-District 30) of Annapolis to discuss concerns about the new boundaries for District 23 and the potential impact on the city of Bowie, according to The Gazette.
