Principal of PG County School Rocked by Child Sex Abuse Allegations Placed on Leave: Report
Police are investigating an anonymous allegation against the principal.

UPDATE: The principal was cleared after authorities determined there was no evidence of misconduct.
GLENARDEN, MD — Allegations of child sex abuse at a local elementary school earlier this year shook the community of Glenarden, and now the school's principal has been placed on administrative leave as police and school officials investigate an anonymous allegation, according to a report.
Brian Jones, the principal of Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School, was placed on leave late last week and a letter was sent to parents, according to a WTOP report, which noted that the allegation did not involve students according to Prince George's County Public Schools CEO Kevin Maxwell.

Deonte Carraway, a former teacher's aide who worked at the school, was arrested back in February and faces sex abuse and child pronography charges. Police say he coerced nearly two dozen children into performing sex acts on him and each other and then filmed it.
Police are also investigating a school bus aide for James Ryder Randall Elementary School in Clinton, Md., who is suspected of molesting special needs preschool children, according to the report.

It's been a tough year for the county's school system. Just last month, the federal government stripped $6.3 million in Head Start grant money from the schools after finding educators were using humiliation and corporal punishment on preschoolers.
