Secure Online System Helps Prince George's Residents Log Valuables

Prince George's residents can log their valuables into a secure online system called ReportIt, which helps track belongings if stolen.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Residents are encouraged to use a free online system that helps keep track of valuable personal property.

Called ReportIt, the secure online system allows users to record serial numbers and upload images for phones, electronics, jewelry and other valuables.

"Should those items ever be stolen, the information will go a long way in accurately and identifying your property. In the event of a theft, citizens can print a report of their items and provide it to the responding officer or detective for entry into a law enforcement database for stolen and pawned items. The site is password protected and can only be accessed by the account holder - the PGPD cannot access the information," the Prince George's County Police Department said.
