Police Confirm Shots Were Fired Near Elementary School In Prince George's County
Children outdoors for recess were sent inside when shots were fired Thursday near their elementary school in Prince George's County.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Shots were fired near a school in Prince George's County Thursday afternoon, police have confirmed.
The incident is being called a "non-contact shooting" and police say no one was injured in the incident, but children were sent running back into the District Heights elementary school. A school bus parked nearby had not been hit either.
The shooting happened about one mile away from a daycare center that closed down last week due to violence in the area, reports NBC Washington.
