Son Charged In Fatal Assault Of 72-Year-Old Mom: Prince George's Police

BLADENSBURG, MD — A 51-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to the death of his 72-year-old mother.

On April 3 around 11:10 p.m., Bladensburg police officers were called to a home in the 4100 block of 53rd Place for a welfare check. They found 72-year-old Lorena Royster with trauma. She was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the police department. Prince George's officers arrived and took over the investigation.

The preliminary investigation indicates 51-year-old Reginald English fatally assaulted his mother. The motive remains under investigation. He has been charged with first- and second-degree murder.
