Hoyer Endorses STEM Initiative at Bowie State

Investing in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields is the key to training career-ready students, Hoyer said.

Lockheed Martin has teamed up with Bowie State University to open up job opportunities for students by strengthening skills in science and math.

Education Innovation Initiative (EI2) is an enrichment program that provides underrepresented students in Prince George’s County a better look into career paths in STEM fields, as well as better access to learning resources.

Lockheed recently gave Bowie State at $10,000 donation in support of the program.

“The EI2 Initiative will help us build a highly-competitive workforce here in Maryland, and ensures our students are prepared for the jobs of tomorrow,” Hoyer said in a statement.
