Student Searched For Weapon At Bowie High School: Police

Bowie Police Department officers stopped and searched as Bowie High School student suspected of carrying a weapon to school.

BOWIE, MD — Bowie Police Department officers stopped a Bowie High School student suspected of being armed Tuesday morning, according to a police alert.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25, around 7:30 a.m., officers responded the report of a family dispute at a location off of Bowie High School property. One of the individuals involved in the dispute was allegedly armed. When officers arrived, half of those involved in the dispute had left the area on foot.

After searching the area, officers spotted the individual near Bowie High School, where he is a student. When they tried to stop him, the individual fled toward the school. The officers stopped him before he entered the school and searched him. No weapon was found.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident. There is no present danger to the community.
